The New Haven Road Race is a nonprofit organization registered with the State of Connecticut. Surplus funds are distributed to charities which benefit people in the New Haven area.

The New Haven Road Race and its participants have returned over $300,000 to the community.
For the 2010 Race, the Stratton Faxon New Haven Road Race is partnered with the following 501c(3) charities: Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, The American Cancer Society, Cindy Lynn Sherwin Memorial Foundation and The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training. Runners who contributed or raised $100 or more for these charities were invited to run the race without additional charge.
